Why doTERRA? CPTG
I am leaping headfirst into becoming a Wellness Advocate for doTERRA. I’m excited to share what I learn as I learn it with you, my friends and neighbors. The more I learn about this company the more I’m impressed.
CPTG Quality Testing
There is currently no accepted standard for quality when it comes to essential oils. To protect customers from adulterated oils doTERRA came up with a testing process that is used by no other essential oils company. The process is called Certified Pure Therapeutic Grade®. This testing ensures the oils we buy are free of added fillers, synthetic ingredients, or harmful contaminants.
Testing begins once the oils are distilled, each oil’s chemical composition is reviewed. The next round of testing is performed at the production facility and ensures that the oil matches the first round of testing. The next round of testing is done in phases as the oils are being bottled. Check out the lengths doTERRA goes through to make sure we only get the highest quality oils.
The CPTG Certified Pure Therapeutic Grade quality protocol includes the following tests:
- Organoleptic testing
- Microbial testing
- Gas chromatography
- Mass spectrometry
- Fourier Transform Infrared spectroscopy (FTIR)
- Chirality testing
- Isotopic analysis
- Heavy metal testing
Once an oil has gone through and passed all these tests it is then released.
