Killdeer and It’s Young
Yesterday when we went out to feed a Killdeer started harassing me. It turns out it had a little baby over by our granite pile. The young hunker down when they feel threatened and that makes a great opportunity to take pictures. I picked it up and it was quiet content to soak up the warmth of my hand. After we got all the pictures we wanted we put it over by it’s parent and they all scurried off. They came back about 10 minutes later to pick through the horse manure. Cute little family.
I thought they were a beach bird? However I read up a little about them and it turns out it is normal for them to be here. They also eat bugs so I am happy for them to stay!
