Goat Dewormer Treats
Last week I sought out goat dewormer that I could give feta while she is in milk. I wanted to use up some of the dried herbs I have stored so I decided to make my own. I looked at several recipes and decided on this one. I made treats because I know my picky goat would eat only the morsels she desired. This way I can trick her into eating all the ingredients.
1/2 cup Garlic minced
1/2 cup Ginger minced
1/4 Turmeric minced (found at our local Asian market)
1 cup Thyme
1 cup Wormwood
1 cup Rosemary
1/4 cup chopped cloves
1 cup Sage Leaf
1/2 shredded coconut (unsweetened)
1 cup Diatomaceous Earth (food grade)
1 cup Mustard Seed Flour
To this I added some items Feta finds tasty: oats, kale, mustard greens, ect. blended it all together in a food processor and slowly added molasses and whole wheat flour until it was dough consistency. Then Husband and I plopped goat mouth size amounts onto parchment paper lined dehydrator trays. I let them set in the dehydrator at 155 degrees over night. I bagged them up and stored them in the feed shed.
Directions: Feed two treats a day for seven days.
